David Sjauw

Managing Partner

David Sjauw serves as Managing Partner of Court Square Real Estate Partners. Mr. Sjauw oversees and facilitates design, development and project management during the predevelopment and construction phases. David shares responsibilities to for the company’s operations and sources new deals and equity for the company’s pipeline.

Throughout Mr. Sjauw’s fifteen year career, he has held executive positions at several private real estate firms to manage and build the in-house development and construction divisions. He has developed and built approximately $500 million of ground up development projects totaling over 750 residential units and over one million square feet throughout New York City.

Mr. Sjauw has a wealth of knowledge of the entire development process from acquisition, finance, zoning, design, entitlements, project management and construction which has resulted in projects being delivered on time and yielding exceptional returns. Mr. Sjauw’s proficiency of real estate development is displayed by his proven track record of assembling superior teams and successful projects that have an emphasis on design and value and are delivered on time and on budget.

Earlier in Mr. Sjauw’s career, he worked as an Electrical Engineer designing residential and office buildings in New York City. David earned his Bachelor of Electrical/Computer Science Engineering degree from New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Real Estate Development degree from Columbia University.

Mark Gold

Managing Partner

Mark Gold is a Managing Partner of Court Square Real Estate Partners. Mr. Gold is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational, corporate and business functions of the company and oversees the company’s acquisition, financing and development activities. Prior to forming Court Square; Mr. Gold was a partner and one of the founding members of Silvercup Properties, a privately held real estate investment and development company based in New York. Prior to forming Silvercup Properties in 2014, Mr. Gold was the director of Real Estate for Silvercup Studios, where he oversaw all real estate development and investment activities. During his time at Silvercup, Mr. Gold founded S2 Construction in 2014, which managed all construction activities for Silvercup Properties and Silvercup Studios.

Prior to joining Silvercup in 2000, Mr. Gold held the role of Vice President of Acquisitions at Town and Country Trust, a multifamily REIT that owned and managed over 13,000 units in 39 communities along the East Coast. He was also Vice President of Development at Schulweis Realty, an affiliated privately held real estate investment and development company, where he was involved in the predevelopment of a 300-unit high-rise multifamily building in Baltimore among other projects.

Mr. Gold has over twenty years of real estate acquisitions and development experience. He has worked on the development of over 1,000 units of rental and for sale housing, a large-scale rezoning, large scale remediation as well as 120,000 SF of retail located throughout New York City.

Mr. Gold earned a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University.

Alex Schwartz

Vice President

Alex Schwartz is responsible for managing development projects from site acquisition through financing, design and construction. He spearheads sourcing, underwriting and deal capitalization while also overseeing and facilitating design development and development management during the pre-development and construction phases. Mr. Schwartz has an invaluable knowledge of the New York City markets and countless relationships within the capital markets.

Mr. Schwartz has almost a decade of experience in New York City real estate. Prior to joining Court Square Real Estate Partners, he spent time at Silvercup Properties and DHA Capital where he worked on acquisitions and development management of The Harrison in Long Island City and 50 Clinton Street in the Lower East Side.

Prior to NYC development, Mr. Schwartz worked in acquisitions and asset management for an off-campus student housing company with a portfolio of 23 properties consisting of nearly 10,000 beds. Mr. Schwartz earned his Master of Science in real estate development from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston.
